Service Packs
       One of the more common fixes for ANY errors you are having after Office XP is installed would be to download and install the Service Release Patch (SR-1). To check and see if the Service Pack is installed on your system follow these steps:
  • Click Help
  • About <the application name. If it is Word, Click "About Microsoft Word", if it is Excel, click "About Micosoft Excel", etc...>
  • The First line of the next window will list the application <ie., Microsoft Word 2002 SR-1, Microsoft Excel 2002 SR-1, Microsoft Outlook 2002, etc. These are only examples just for illustration.>

If no Service Release Package is shown next to the Application name then I would suggest downloading and installing the Office XP Service Pack.
