A Typical Installation
You will begin the installation in One of Two ways, by 1) Autorun or 2) by Browsing the CD and selecting the setup.exe executable file. My instructions will be using the Autorun feature for the Professional (PRO) version of Microsoft Office 2002.
- Insert the first disk, CD 1.
- It should start the setup window automatically, or "Autorun"
- Type in your Name, Company Name (if any), and Product ID when instructed. If you don't have a product ID - call Microsoft or the manufacturer of your system
- Accept the default folder for installation. The file path is normally C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office
- For installation type select "Typical"
- Follow the prompts. Reboot when the system asks you to do so.
- Restart your system at the conclusion of the installation to make sure that all updates to your files and registry are completed correctly
NOTE: Microsoft Office XP (2002) REQUIRES you to activate this product! The normal requirements for OEM and Retail versions are that you will have 50 launches of any application and then your Office products will go into reduced mode where you can only veiw documents.
