These are the steps to fix Excel without Uninstalling and Reinstalling Windows 98 Win98 - Excel 97 Click Start -> Find -> Files or Folders In the "Named" box type "excel.pip" (don't type the quotation marks) Click Edit -> Select All Push the "delete" key on your keyboard. This will delete the excel.pip file(s) which might be corrupted. Close the Find window Clcik Start -> Run Type "regedit" in the "Open" box and click OK This takes you to the registry editor. Follow these direction EXACTLY! If you do not see a folder matching one listed then skip it and go on. Delete the following keys: Hkey_current_user\software\Microsoft\office\8.0\excel Hkey_local_machine\software\Microsoft\office\8.0\excel Click Start -> Programs -> Microsoft Excel Insert Microsoft OfficeDisk 1 when prompted Follow the directions and restart your system when everything is finished Try the Excel application again to see if it continues to give errors Win98 - Excel 2000 Click Start -> Find -> Files or Folders In the box labeled "Named" type "excel.pip" (don't type the quotation marks) Click Edit -> Select All Push the "delete" key on your keyboard.
