Service Packs
One of the more common fixes for ANY errors you are having after Office 2000 installed is downloading and installing the two Service Release Patches. To check and see which service (if any) is installed on your system follow these steps:
- Click Help
- About <the application name. If it is Word, Click "About Microsoft Word", if it is Excel, click "About Micosoft Excel", etc...>
- The First line of the next window will list the application <ie., Microsoft Word 2000 SR-1, Microsoft Excel 2000 SR-2, Microsoft Outlook 2000, etc. These are only examples just for illustration.>
If any of the application show SR-1 then you can skip to SR-2. If no Service Release Package is shown next to the Application name then I would suggest downloading and installing both Service Packs.
In order for the SR Patches to work you MUST download and install the patches in order! If you do not have any SR Packs then download and install the patch listed below FIRST:
Next, after First downloading and installing the SR-1a Patch, you need to download and install the SR-2 patch listed below:
When you are prompted to open or save the file you are downloading, click Save it to disk , and then save the file in a folder on the hard disk. Double-click the file and follow the instructions
